Our Story
My experience with traditional household cleaners probably sounds very similar to yours: dizziness, dried out hands, fumes, lung irritation, skin irritation, tightness in chest, watery eyes, weezing. The list goes on and on. Today, I’m sharing my story of why I’m “ditching and switching” to Thieves.
Since becoming homeowners over four years ago, we have had a cleaning service consistently come into our home every other week to deep clean. My husband treated me to this luxury back in my teaching days. He saw that I was spending my entire Saturday cleaning the inside of the house and my entire Sunday lesson planning. Side note: He is extremely handy and takes care of everything else inside and outside of our home!
Summer of 2015 came around, we learned we were pregnant with our first child, and there was NO questioning whether or not we would keep our cleaning service. Beside the physical labor, we did not want to risk me handling and inhaling highly toxic cleaning supplies while pregnant with our precious babe. Seriously, think about that!
In the months after our daughter was born, the cleaning service continued. We just did not feel safe spraying cleaners in the air around her. Let me also be completely real here – I basically had to hold her 24/7! If I wanted to get ANYTHING done around the house, I had to strap her in the baby carrier. There was NO chance I was going to wear her, bring her into my windowless and unventilated bathrooms, jet out chemically filled bleach products, and have us BOTH inhale those vapors.
Fast forward to winter of 2017. My daughter was just shy of a year old and we found out we were pregnant again with our second baby girl. Again, we decided to keep our cleaning service through our second pregnancy. Our youngest is now 8 months old and we just discontinued our cleaning service! The reason is THIEVES! We feel peace of mind cleaning our home for the first time since our children were conceived.

Is Thieves Cost Effective?
To be cost effective, I am transitioning over to the Thieves counterpart of whatever product I am currently using. We have made the switch already to Thieves Foaming Hand Soap (Refill), Thieves Fruit & Veggie Soak, Thieves Household Cleaner, Thieves Laundry Soap, and Thieves Waterless Hand Purifier (3 pack). In my Essential Rewards (ER) order for next month, I am switching to Thieves Automatic Dishwasher Powder, and Thieves Dish Soap. I’m even going to try out some of the dental products: Thieves Aromabright Toothpaste, and Thieves Fresh Essence Plus Mouthwash.
