Responsible Diapering with Dyper

Did you know that an estimated 20 billion disposable diapers are added to landfills each year? Furthermore, that diapers in landfills take up to 500 years to degrade? As a result, methane, other toxic gasses, and volatile chemicals end up in the ecosystem. While there is no “perfect” solution to the diapering dilemma, every little bit counts when it comes to responsible diapering, which is why I use Dyper. In a recent blog post, What’s In Purse (Winter Edition), I shared how I’m a Dyper ambassador and use their brand of diapers for my youngest’s diapering needs. Dypers are better for the planet, your baby, and your wallet!

Although cloth diapering is probably the best option for our planet and environment, it just isn’t practical for my lifestyle. Wanting to reduce my carbon footprint, I started searching for the next best thing. That’s when I came across Dyper!

When looking into building a better diaper, Dyper wanted to have a positive impact on the planet. Dypers are biodegradable. After 15 days, Dypers biodegrade by 40%, and after 75 days by 61%! Are they perfect? No, but every little bit of incremental change adds up to a big impact in a long run.

Dypers are made with viscose fibers from bamboo because it is softer, and can be sourced responsibly. Bamboo grows fast, requires no fertilizers and can be processed with less chemicals. Dypers are packed in clear bags made with oxo-degradable materials.

Get this! With proper care, Dypers can be composted at home with a commercial composting facility, or mailed away using the REDYPER™ service

Lastly, with each delivery, Dyper purchases carbon offsets on behalf of subscribers. This helps with reforestation efforts and to reduce the footprint of your diapering journey.

Somewhere along my wellness journey, I started questioning the ingredients in my daughter’s diapers. Yes, believe it or not, diapers have ingredients! While doing my research I learned that Dyper is free of all the nasty stuff. No chlorine, latex, alcohol, perfumes, PVC, lotions, TBT or phthalates. They have no prints, so there is no ink to worry about. (Or prints showing through your little one’s clothing!)

Dypers are soft to the touch, yet extremely durable and absorbent. The micro perforation design wicks the moisture away from the skin.
