Welcome! I’m Kate Deverin, mom of three, wife to my handy husband, licensed Realtor, and life + style blogger here at kate down-home. I started this blog shortly after moving to rural New Jersey in the fall of 2019 as a creative outlet to share life “down-home” in a small town.

We are making our house a home through projects and renovations we mostly do ourselves using his expertise and skillsets, and my eye for design. My home decor style can be described as traditional and minimalist. I’m drawn to light + airy, a neutral color palette, a mix of old and new, subtle textures, unique fixtures, and greenery.

Additionally, I am passionate about health + wellness. It wasn’t until I became a mother and conducted my own research that I learned of the dangerous toxic chemicals lurking in our family’s household cleaning and personal care products. Now, my mission is to educate, encourage, and inspire families to better support their health + wellness using cleaner, safer, and even DIY products!

My favorite things in life are the beach, historical fiction novels, cozying up by a fire, seasonally flavored coffee, and acai bowls.
